Nedlloyd Selects Celarix Rate Explorer
for
Tariff and Contract Automation
CAMBRIDGE,
Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Celarix,
Inc., the leading provider of collaborative logistics
and transportation solutions for global shippers and carriers,
today announced that P&O Nedlloyd has licensed Celarix
Rate Explorer to automate the contract, tariff and pricing
activities on the carrier's North American routes. Under this
agreement, Celarix will host the Rate Explorer solution to
perform all tariff and contract publishing activities. P&O
Nedlloyd represents the seventh major shipping line that has
licensed Rate Explorer in 2001, clearly underscoring Celarix'
market momentum and leadership.
"Celarix
has an impressive and proven solution to manage the complexities
of our pricing activities and produce calculable service contracts
for our customers,'' said Michael J White, executive vice
president of P&O Nedlloyd. ``Accurately rating the bill-of-lading
the first time, every time, improves customer satisfaction
and ultimately our cash collection cycles with the added internal
benefit of higher productivity for our staff.''
Celarix
Rate Explorer is a robust, function-rich solution that can
handle the significant scale and scope of P&O Nedlloyd's
contract and tariff management needs. The solution will be
used to retrieve rates in rate tariffs and calculable service
contracts, publish and file tariffs and calculable service
contracts, manage the price quotation process, and facilitate
auto-rating of bookings and bills-of-lading.
``We are
extremely pleased to have P&O Nedlloyd, the world's second
largest carrier, as our customer,'' said John Preuninger,
executive vice president & general manager for Celarix.
``Rate Explorer will allow P&O Nedlloyd to realize a new
level of customer service -- and competitiveness -- through
calculable service contracts. Now customers will enjoy better
service levels with fewer billing issues, accurate rating
and faster response to their inquiries with a solution that
pays for itself through productivity gains.''
Over the
past eight years, Rate Explorer has become a leading Web-based
solution for tariff and service contract automation. Rate
Explorer provides tools to support calculable service contracts,
including bid management, rate analysis, auto-ratings of bookings
and bills-of-lading, and integration with enterprise systems.
The system handles everything from the simplest deals to the
