Hi Don, great to read your journal. You will not remember me but I was a control marshal for the last week running from Italy right up to Paris booking you guys in. It was wonderful to be part of the adventure in our own small way. I would love to get hold of a copy of your incredible journal as a memento.

I met Don Jones on 8-8-2000 in Wisconsin, and was very impressed. His trip reminded me of my now-deceased Father's trip from Minnesota to Los Angeles in 1932 to see th Olympics. It took four of them 65days and 65 flat tires to get their Model-T Ford round-trip. This trip was a primary highlight in his life, and brought many opportunities for him to reminisce about the same. Best Regards, Tom Vertin. Breckenridge, MN. 56520, or tomvertin@hotmail.com. Please forward on to Don Jones. Thank you.

The World of Collector Cars did a show about the Thomas Flyer in 1993 that was interesting. I hadn't heard about your trip until a friend sent me your URL recently- I'd rather have your car than the Thomas Flyer! http://alumni.caltech.edu/~tfly/

I found your website looking for the artists, Konstantin/ Boudnikov. I bought some prints in NY last weekend from supposedly the artists, but I wasn't sure. It began to rain and I helped them gather their work. In return they gave me a great deal but I'm looking to purchase an original. It seems looking for them, I found you. It seems they found you as well from the intro photo in Times Square. Good luck with all. Tracy

Fantastic trip and an interesting way to learn of the countries. What a triumph for Packard... Incredible, given the politics and the road.I dont know which I admire the most, the political acomplishment or you and the automobile.. but then, I drive a 32 Packard...

In 1905 my Cousin drove a new Buick across country and broke the records. He had done this about 10 years previous on a bicycle and set many records. This man ended up as the Manufacturer of the DEVAUX automobile in the early 30's. This was Norman DeVaux.

I have been surfing the web for a while now looking for information and you seem like the best source. Your trip sounds amazing. Just increditable. This is what my friend and I want to do, I would like to know if you think it would be safe and feasible. Starting in Nepal, travel to Europe using only public transportation. We would be in Nepal by May 20th. We hoped to spend at least a week there. Then head to India, pakistan, afganistan, iran, trukey. Probably the same route as you. We are 2 20 year old males with alot of traveling experience. I was wondering how you would sugguse I go about reasearching such a trip. Should I get books on every country? Do I need visa's for every country? Whatever advice you have would be apreciated. You are an expert on such matters. Thank you very much. Mike Riegelman riegs@gwu.edu

I am seeking information on the schedule for a 1999 Beijing to Paris road rally/race. I have an Aston Martin which I would consider taking on the trip. I need to know the qualifications for entrance, costs, and any other details available. Willl appreciate hearing from anyone who can provide such information. Thanks!

Hi Don &Carl, My husband Peter and I were actually on an anniversary weekend trip to Paris in October 1997 when we accidentally stumbled across the finish of the Peking to Paris rally. It was so exciting to see that we abandoned the rest of the day's itinery and stayed to watch all the cars (including yours) come in. We have lots of photographs and memories of a thrilling finale which was certainly the highlight of our trip. I would just like to congratulate you on your achievements and thank you for creating such a wonderful website - it has allowed me to enjoy the adventures of the whole race and not just the finish!! P.S. We must be fated to keep on meeting like this as I only came across your site whilst looking for tips on our next holiday destination - San Francisco!! Best wishes and good luck with your future journeys!

Thanks Don, I have received the tapes as well as the diary of our marvoulous event. Very fascinating to read your pages as they came on the net. Meanwhile we have read the note's Anton wrote on the net, the book by Fritz Walter, the book from the father and son team in there Bentley etc. etc. The following is what happened to, of which I am sure you are not aware. Kermit was leading the event when we set of from Xigaze. We took a wrong direction and drove for about one our south instead of east. All the makrs
