Jay Retzer - Biography

Jay Retzer grew up on a small farm in the Ashford, WI area where he developed a taste for production agriculture. After graduating in 1992 with a B.S. in Agronomy from UW-River Falls, Jay took on the role of crops manager for Spirit Farms.

Over the past seven years he has taken responsibility for the production and marketing of 1,800 acres of corn, soybeans, wheat and, most recently, sunflowers. Jay is also interested in the production of specialty grains and hopes to incorporate these value-added crops into the rotation in the near future.

Jay was married to his wife Heidi in October, 1994. On May 11, 1998 they welcomed Bryce Joseph Retzer into the world. Jay is a volunteer firefighter with the Eden Fire Department and also serves as co-chair for the field demonstration committee for Farm Progress Days 2000 which is being held in Fond du Lac County.

His other interests include hunting, fishing and spending time with his family.
